THE TIME SPENT DURING MID-SEMESTER BREAK (AIDILADHA CELEBRATION)
Hari Raya Haji falls on 10th day of in the month of Zulhijjah Islamic/Muslim calendar. This festival is celebrated to pay homage to Ibrahim (Abraham) a true devotee of Allah who agrees to sacrifice his son Ishmael as instructed by Allah. Allah instruct him to do so to test his devotion in him. In Hari Raya Haji Muslims pray to Allah and listen to sermon at mosques. An animal is also sacrificed in this festival which represents the animal which Ibrahim sacrificed in place of his son. That is why the festival is also called " feast of sacrifice ".
On the holiday of the day of Aid I spent a lot time with my family. On 28/8 I went back to the village on the Island of penang. All siblings and relatives on that day returned to the village. On the first day of the feast in the village was a bit too busy to prepare for the feast. The feast of the feast is quite different in the village and the city because of its lively and different people.
At 1/9 on the first day of the day of AidilAdha. Everyone had scrambled to use the bathroom especially men because they were afraid of being late to the mosque. After they came back from the mosque,they ate, chatted, joked and I was so happy because this year I felt very lively in the village. All my nephews and aunt went to the place to slaughter the cows and the meat was distributed to everyone at the time, they went home and brought the beef to cook and eat a lot with all family.
The last day we were in the village, all of us had to pack and pack all the things in the kitchen to be organized because later it would not hurt nenek to pack again. So I'm happy this year and I hope this will continue this kind forever until the end of life and not split up with each other.
